Child Support is going mobile

Parents who have an online child support account through my.gov.au web site can now download the “Express Plus Child Support” app to their mobile devices.

Although the app has not yet been formally launched, it is already available to Australia’s 1.4 million child support customers.

The app shows current information about child support liabilities and about payments made and received.  The last 90 days of correspondence to the customer from Child Support can be viewed through the app.

Now parents need go no further than their mobile device to notify Child Support of changed levels of care for children.  Once this information is lodged through the app, Child Support will contact the other parent to make sure that both parents agree before the child support assessment is changed.

New child support cases are still commenced either by phone or on paper.  Once a new case has been opened, parents can register for online access to their child support account through my.gov.au

The online access will allow activation of the Express Plus Child Support app which parents will be able to access through their own child support four digit pin.

I recently attended the Child Support Stakeholders Engagement Group where the new app was showcased. I have kept up with child support developments since completing 11 years as an external Child Support Senior Case Officer and I am available to assist with child support enquiries.
